My Beautiful, Beautiful Room!!

We've been in our house since April 1, and I have spent nearly all of June painting different rooms before going out of town for three weeks in July. The week before we left for Florida, I just couldn't bear the thought of returning and having to paint my cavernous bedroom. So, I hired my good friend Jona to do it for me! And he did a fabulous job. I cried when I walked in and saw it for the first time.

So to you homeowners contemplating painting and feel too scared to go dark, just go for it! I was scared, I'll admit it, but all the rooms I'd seen in design magazines which I really liked all had dark walls. This is "boysenberry jam" in satin by Olympic, bought at Lowe's.

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!

On another decorating note, I managed to find a solid wood desk for Hannah the night before we left town on craigslist. $35! It's atrocious right now, but I look forward eagerly to repainting and trying out decoupage with Hannah as the final piece to her room. I'll post Before and After photos for sure.
