You know how once in a while you read a book that changes your life? Well, I just did this past Sunday. Same Kind of Different As Me is a true story and mostly takes place in Ft. Worth, TX, which is merely 4 hours north of me straight up I-35. I'd seen this book many times in Borders and flipped through it once and nearly bought it a couple of times, but for whatever reason, never did. I put it on my Amazon wishlist and Mom sent it to me for my birthday.

I love stories--true stories. And above all, true stories about how God showed up in people's lives. This is one of those stories. It really challenged me to ask myself, "Am I as selfless and enthusiastic about helping people as the lady in this book?" I don't know. Probably not. But it's something to work towards!

You MUST read this book!! If I could, I'd buy copies for all of my friends (along with Three Cups of Tea which chronicles Greg Mortenson's spectacular mission to build schools for Muslim girls in Pakistan amongst the Taliban stronghold.)
